Letter # 1 Created by David Wallin of Hillsdale, Michigan:
Dear Congressman (Insert Your Federal Reps Name):
SUBJECT:
Please review the facts here first: www.toxicprices.com
We need to recognize that we have a POLITICAL oil problem, not a OIL SUPPLY problem.
We are not over-using "fossil fuels" - there is yet a vast supply of native oil, right here within the USA, so WHY do we import a product we have so much of? We do not need to import so much as a single drop of oil sourced from outside our national borders for the next 200 years.
The false Idea that we have reached PEAK OIL is the other side’s view of (“peek-a-boo”) oil and is total nonsense similar to the mid 1970’s hoax. It is what it always was, a marketing argument for ridiculously high prices. And a Big LIE!
We need a US Congress willing to SERVE We the People, once again. And not Big Oil as is currently the case.
We need legislation to break the strangle hold oil companies have over refineries production. TWO different functions, TWO DIFFERENT kinds of companies.
They need to be one or the other, but not both. AT&T was broken up. Oil companies can be broken up too.
These new laws need
· to bar oil producers from owning, controlling and running refineries.
· to have national goals to build new refineries, building redundancy and not scarcity of refined supply.
· to shore up our national security by doing so, and
· to avoid Nuclear Warfare by removing our purchasing from imported Middle East oil.
· to provide incentives to stop importation of foreign oil within 90 days of enactment.
· to BEGIN pumping American Oil from American soil or be forever barred from pumping oil from any American ground sources.
· to set up a brand new government oil company whose only job is to pump oil from American wells, with profit sharing checks going directly to reimburse Social Security Trust fund’s previously robbed by Congress making them presently unsound.
· to set a floor price for every barrel of oil domestically produced of $30/barrel over production cost to encouraging domestic production. This bars foreign nations from engaging in predatory pricing practices as well.
· It is true that sweet crude oil from US ground sources are profitable as low as $30/barrel. We have plenty to last us a long, long time.
· to clearly identify and go after both on-shore and off-shore strategic new sources of oil for US consumers especially while we are at war. This practice was common during WWII and we must do this with every oil product domestically produced, lest we loose control of our own national economy. We should take immediate notice that even President Bush has called for us to BREAK "our" foreign oil "addiction", and this is the way of doing so.
· to federally mandate that every gasoline & diesel pump must read: “OIL PRODUCED IN USA", if applicable or in the alternative, “Oil Imported from the Middle East," (or from its country of origin, just as it applies to every other kind and type of product).
· to exercise the authority the US Senate has to pull out of any "Treaty" deal standing to frustrate the Will of the American people in these matters.
· to levy a $30.00 tax on all imported oil. No imported oil gets sold or used here for less then $60.00 per barrel. The tax should be segregated to secure our unfunded liability for (perhaps National Health Care), but at least Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security to those citizens who are too infirm to take care of themselves. NO, we are NOT talking about a tax that would increase the price at the pump! NO! How so? Oil sourced from US Ground Reserves gets sold for no less then $30.00 per barrel over production cost.
NOTE: When oil is IMPORTED, it must sell for no less then $60.00 PER BARREL and it is from this resource that unfunded liabilities are recovered. Current fuel station prices (up to $4 Bucks Plus per gallon) are based on $90.00 to over $120.00 per barrel, so new prices per gallon will come down, EVEN WITH these new taxes. Gasoline Prices will collapse and tax revenue goes up.
Ø We can and need to SOLVE our problems, not compromise with special interests who lobby Congress to maintain them.
Ø Nuclear Warfare out of the Middle East is hardly a sound environmental policy result. Such results are the fruits of the oil lobby”s proposals and we shall know them by their fruits.
Ø Environmental advocacy proposals need to be judged by their results and dismissed if not consistent with protecting all Americans from predatory pricing for oil and oil products. A Blue Ribbon panel needs to report back to Congress more and more information about how what such groups advocate assures ridiculously high prices and profits for the oil companies, rather than true sane concern for the environment.
Ø Disclosure of environmental groups accepting funding from oil companies and oil foundation grants will reveal those who need to be watched:
Again, "By their fruits ye shall know them."
Is it not racist for Americans to say it is "okay" to take oil out of Arab natural resources and not from our own? When we cease to buy oil in the Middle East, we cut “terrorist” funding. Would this not be a tremendous benefit?
We
need to get have you, Congressman (Insert Reps Name) on the record as
our Congressman making sense out of this and introducing legislation to bring
it about.
Do you take money from oil companies? If you do, are you willing to donate
every cent of it to non-profit organizations? Are they willing to notify these
oil company campaign sources that their money will NO longer determine
who you serve, or how you vote on National legislation?
Thank you,
Sincerely

LETTER # 2: Or
You Can Use This Letter which as you can see, was sent out not just to a
Federal Rep, but a State of New Jersey Rep. It is self-explaining. Composed by
Bryan Roscoe of Egg Harbor Township, NJ -- (Just 9 miles from Atlantic City, NJ):
Bryan Roscoe
1204 Old Zion Road
Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey 08234
New Jersey District 2
Assemblyman John Amodeo
Assemblyman Vincent Polistina
1801 Zion Road
Northfield, NJ 08225
May/June/July, 2008
Honorable Assemblymen Amodeo/Polistina:
I am writing to ALL of my Representatives this subject is just too important not to. I urge you to SUPPORT the Oil Shale and Tar Sands Development Act, SB1111. The act promotes development of Oil located in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming.
I fully realize that this is a Federal issue and it is politically incorrect but we as a nation are facing hard times ahead of us. Our Representatives both federal and State must act now.
With gas prices surging higher and higher in the United States, Sen. Orrin Hatch believes some of the nation's energy cost dilemmas may be alleviated by Utah's resources.
Hatch, R-Utah, told the Deseret Morning News editorial board August 15, 2005 that tar sand and oil shale resources in Utah could be used for oil production.
"We have more recoverable oil in Utah and Colorado than in the Middle East," Hatch said in a July 26 press release. "Yet Utah imports nearly one-fourth of its oil from Canada tar sands, even though we have a larger tar sands resource in the state that until now has remained undeveloped."
Hatch said Utah's energy future also looks bright because of an estimated 1.5 trillion to 3 trillion barrels of oil that is recoverable in Utah. "I think it's closer to 3 trillion," he said.
Hatch's Oil Shale and Tar Sands Development bill is part of a comprehensive energy bill that includes other provisions he authored.
One provision, Geothermal and Renewable Resources, SB 1156, would promote geothermal energy, a domestic energy source that according to a press release from Hatch's office could provide energy for more than 22 million homes if fully developed.
"Utah sits on some of the biggest and most important geothermal reservoirs in the country," Hatch said.
The energy legislation was agreed on by a Senate-House negotiating team in July, and now must be agreed to by the House and Senate.
I am asking you once again to SUPPORT the Sen. Orrin Hatch Bill SB 1111 and would you be willing to circulate a letter to all other United States Senators and or New Jersey State Representatives (which ever legislatively appropriate) requesting them each to do the same?
A important note: possibly a New Jersey State Resolution may be passed in order for the word to get out of the Oil Shale and Tar Sands Development Act, SB 1111. The act promotes development of hydrocarbon in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming.
Again I fully realize that this is a Federal issue but the state can do something. You can put it in the official records as the Assembly Minutes as a bipartisan message. You could have a Joint Resolution and express an opinion or you can have a One-House Resolution to express your opinion in this matter. You could write letters to other Federal and State Representatives.
We as Representatives and Constituents of this great nation must battle and defeat this overbearing crisis. I am now paying over 7% and climbing of my annual fixed income to my energy resources. This is a national crisis unlike we have ever seen before at the rate of the dollars per barrel from the Middle East.
I am also interested in
finding out if you support avoiding an
environmental and nuclear holocaust arising out of the Middle East, by passing
legislation that will create a brand new oil company, one that pays dividends
and profit sharing checks to
ALL
current Social Security recipients, from revenue generated by this new oil
company,
dedicated solely to extracting oil from Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, North and
South Dakota, and Montana.
Thank you for your gracious consideration
Sincerely,
Bryan Roscoe
